Club Activities

The Club facilitates a number to activities throughout the year for its members.

Club Nights

The club has meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month in Waltham Chase.

These meetings are a variety of social nights with no specific goal, educational nights with guest speakers talking on a multitude of interesting subjects, entertainment evenings featuring film showings and “pub” quizzes, occasional subsidised fish and chip suppers. There are also some nights dedicated to admin, and planning of the clubs yearly show.

Events

The club readily attends military shows around the country and all members are welcome to join in.

There are also a number of vehicle run outs and, museum visits. There are other social events organised throughout the year which provide additional chances for socialisation such as the Christmas meal.

Overlord Show

Every year, SOE organises the south coasts premier military spectacular, The Overlord Show.

Over the course of three days during the Spring Bank Holiday the public can experience a little bit of military history which they might otherwise be unable to see first hand.
With approximately 300 military vehicles, 500 re-enactors and 100 trade stands, combined with regular arena events there is lots to see and do.

With this, the club has a lot of planning and preparation to undertake before the show and all help from members is greatly welcomed by the show committee.

You can find out more on the dedicated Overlord Show Website.
